Summary

Algo is seeking an Assistant Accountant to contribute to our financial operations and ensure the accuracy of our financial records. In this role, you will be responsible for precise data entry and bookkeeping, assisting in the management of accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements. Collaborating with the finance team, you'll play a vital role in month-end closing processes and contribute to the preparation of financial reports. This position requires attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

What You'll Do

  • Assisting in the development and execution of financial processes, including accurate data entry, bookkeeping, and reconciliation of bank statements, to ensure the precision of financial records.


  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support financial planning and decision-making.


  • Monitoring and managing cash flow to ensure there is sufficient liquidity for ongoing operations.


  • Tracking and categorizing expenses, ensuring accurate allocation and adherence to budgetary guidelines.


  • Assisting in the preparation of tax returns and ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.


  • Providing support during internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.


  • Monitoring and managing customer credit accounts to ensure timely payment and minimize bad debts.


  • Utilizing and maintaining financial software and systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

What You Are

  • You possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting roles, with a preference for those with exposure to ecommerce environments.


  • You have a keen understanding of financial regulations, reporting standards, and compliance requirements.

  • You are detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills to manage and maintain accurate financial records.


  • You exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, product management, and technology teams.


  • You are a highly goal-oriented individual who is resilient in your pursuit of growth.

  • You are open-minded, curious, and a strong problem solver.


  • Knowledge of accounting software, financial analysis tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Suites or Google Workspace is essential for success in this role.


  • While a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related discipline is preferred, relevant experience and demonstrated skills will also be considered.


  • Any additional certifications or courses in accounting and finance would be advantageous.
